Fitness Camps FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I join a boot camp?

You will make a dramatic improvement in your physical and mental well-being!  In addition, you will meet great women who share the same passion for acquiring a more healthy lifestyle.

How do I sign up?

Complete the enrollment form here, choosing what time and camp sessions you prefer. We will contact you to confirm when you want to start and send you the necessary forms.   Also, we will discuss your pre-camp assessment.  It’s not required, but we recommend it.  We typically do assessments prior to class (if you can arrive a couple minutes early)  or if after class (if you can stay a couple extra minutes).  Bring the liability form, medical questionnaire, personal goals form, and payment to your first day of camp.  The goals form is optional, but it helps us know your fitness goals so that we can better help you achieve them!!

What is the pre camp assessment?

We will introduce you to Mountain Girl Fitness and answer any questions you might have. We will review your medical history and address any concerns (if any).  We will take a few simple measurements and record your weight and body fat percentage.  This information is strictly for a post-camp comparison.  Don’t worry about your numbers!  This information is only to help you achieve your fitness goals!  All measurements and personal information will be held in strict confidence.

What do I need to bring to camp?

You will need to bring one set of 3 or 5 pound dumbbells, yoga/exercise mat, running shoes and water, water, and more water!!!  Exercising in high altitude requires extra hydration!  You may consider bringing a towel to wipe off sweat.  Dress appropriate to the weather.  Weather permitting, camps will be held in and outdoors. Please dress appropriately.

What if I sign up for the 3-day and want to do more days of camp?

After starting camp, many people realize how fun and motivating exercising in a group can be!  Keep in mind the more days you attend camp the greater results you will achieve!  Adding extra days is as easy as telling your guide and paying the pro-rated amount for your additional days.

Will I be sore?

Results don’t come without a little sweat, blood and tears!!  You can expect to be a little sore the first week of camp. Drink lots of water and add extra stretching to your daily routine to decrease this effect.  As your body adjusts to the exercise your soreness will transform into extra energy and a sense of accomplishment and exhilaration.

What kinds of people go to camp?

Our campers are just like you!  Whether you are just beginning or a fitness enthusiast you will feel comfortable working out with Mountain Girl Fitness.  Our workouts are designed to meet each person’s individual fitness needs.  You will share the support and friendship of fitness minded people just like you!  All workouts have modifications to accommodate all fitness levels.

What if I’m new to exercise?

EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to come to boot camp.  Every exercise includes modifications and progressions to make the movement easier or harder.  This way people of ALL fitness levels can enjoy a workout that is challenging but at the same time achievable and not overwhelming.  As you continue to attend boot camp you will notice that you are capable of doing more than you ever imagined.  Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace and be respectful of other boot campers.

Is there a refund policy?

If you are unable to participate in camp, due to circumstances beyond your control, we will offer a refund of your camp payment, if you notify us prior to your camp start date.  If we are notified after your camp begins, we can give you a credit towards a future camp.  Credits are non-transferable, non-cash and can not be used toward personal training sessions.

What is a typical day like at camp?

Each day and workout will be different but a typical day will include light jogging or walking, strength training, circuits, core exercises, agility work, plyometrics and cardio exercises.   Each day will be a challenging and dynamic workout.  We like to change it up and never do the same workout twice.  You just never know what fun will happen during class.  Some of the fun includes  playing games, doing relays, working with a partner, circuits or answering trivia!! We keep it fun yet you will still get a great workout. Our boot camp style is encouraging and motivating, not degrading.  We will encourage you, but you won’t find us screaming and yelling.

How soon will I see results?

Each body is different!  As with anything new, there is a period of adjustment that your body must endure.  Depending on your effort, you should begin to see performance improvements within the first camp session.  Your guides will teach you a total body wellness plan.  Mountain Girl Fitness is not focused completely on individual body measurements.  You will notice an increase in endurance, strength and flexibility.  You can be assured a 100% gain in self-confidence!
